The Uttoxeter & District U3A is an autonomous organization affiliated to a national body providing daytime courses, meetings and activities for retired and semi-retired people. Although there is no specific age limit for membership it is aimed at the 40+ age group of people no longer in full time employment.
This U3A offers a range of ‘groups’ of people who wish to engage in a wide variety of activities, interests and hobbies. Our watch words are ‘Friendship’ and ‘Fun’. New members will be warmly welcomed.
If you would like to find out more please come along to any of our activities to see if you would like to join us. Alternatively telephone Audrey Brown or Phil Greenwood (numbers above).
We were formed in May 2003 and are presently thriving. Many groups are operating, and more are planned. We include a number of purely social events as well as the ‘study’ and hobby activities.
For a list of groups and current activities please see the latest newsletter, diary update or Social and Trips
Other groups are regularly added. We are always looking for new ideas to add to the range of activities on offer – if you have a hobby, skill or interest let us know and we will see if we can expand to meet your needs.
An enrolment form is available – you can join at any time and take part in any activity. The annual subscription is just £8 (but if you already belong to another U3A you will only be asked for £5.50). Your subscription also includes delivery to your home of the quarterly U3A News national magazine, as well as regular Newsletters from this local U3A. In addition to the Annual subscription there is a ‘session’ charge of £1 for each activity you attend.
Whatever your interests are we would like to hear from you, and hope that you will become a member and add more enjoyment to your leisure time.
